because i have no new art to report.
(Not entirely true because technically working on launching our own web stores qualifies as art news, but as it’s not finished quite yet, there’s still not really anything to report about it.)
After discovering the full monotony of assembling multitudes of photo cards & aceo’s, I decided to take a break to work on Flummeries for awhile. The little guys were covered in dust bunnies and in dire need of new friends. I’m still fine tuning the ability to work on both Flummeries and my solo art at the same time… one in each hand… maybe add a third hand to work on web design or wood carving… a fourth to do the dishes…
To come away from that disturbing visual, I’ve compiled some random thoughts to blog:
Erik aged last weekend and we marked the occasion watching bad movies + a couple of good ones, loafing around for 4 days and playing Tomb Raider Anniversary. Well, he played and I mainly just marveled at his Lara dexterity. He’s astoundingly graceful for an old guy!
He also got the truly cool gift of his friend raising a pint in his honor while on vacation in Ireland.
Orange cat has mastered the art of flying, stealing loose change and overcoming his odd fear of the sofa.
James is now comprised of 50% fluff and 50% muscle from sparring all day, fending off Holdens ninja attacks and resembles more of a bear than feline.
Oscar has taken to drinking from the faucet and quoting Shakespeare when the mood strikes her.
Our turtle has finally reappeared from hibernation even pickier about food than he already was. He’s now added spinach to the long list of intolerable foods to boycott.
Besides man and pet geeking…
I highly recommend taking a gander/signing up for the Cart Before the Horse newsletter. It’s a wonderful read once a week that promotes healthy exposure to laughter and wit from a great team of artists. I’ve collected all of them over the years and suggest spending time at work reading the archive when no one’s looking. It’s a quality expenditure of time!
I got a PotaTote from artist Brendan Monroe and believe if everyone purchased one it’s possible the ozone layer could be saved and at the same time sublimely promote the unsung glory of spuds.
If you get one as a gift for someone, it would look stunning accented with a NoosedKitty card. Her revamped website is unbelievably cool and worth more time spent perusing while on the clock!
I’m awaiting for my first Boo Coo Washi Art doll to arrive and am ecstatic about it. I’ve loved her work for so long and could only watch from afar as all the ones I wanted were acquired by other people. I can now tell everyone about them without fear because I finally have my own!
That’s all I can come up with for now.
I’m off to flumming it and working on more illustrations between picking up all the change Holden’s meticulously arranged around my work table.
Happy Friday!
